Tom Brady was interviewed (it's 40 minutes long but worth every minute of it) the other day before playing in what will be his 10th Super Bowl game. Imagine that...10th Super Bowl. He is obviously one of the greatest, if not the greatest to wear a football uniform. In my world of basketball, I think of Michael Jordan. And interestingly, Tom Brady and Michael Jordan each have 6 Championship rings. Will this be #7 for Brady?
In this interview you will hear how a TRUE TEAMMATE thinks, talks, and acts as you listen to this greatest-of-all-time, Tom Brady, make these points (my thoughts follow each one):
His success is more about being with great teams and great teammates (not about what he has accomplished)
We all have to evolve and get better - that is what you are supposed to do (none of us has "arrived")
Many others helped him along the way (the best understand it is not only about them - he needs others to be their best so that he can be his best)
He shows respect to other players, opposing coaches, and opposing teams (the great ones respect the game and those who have made it to such a high level; success is not about cockiness, but about respecting all)
He asks himself: did I put in the work to do my best for my team and teammates (you earn success by the investment you put in and the accountability you hold yourself to)
So many lessons in this video - but I don't want to spoil things for you. This is must listen for anyone who is on a team, whether in sports or business. If everyone on your team had this outlook, philosophy, and understanding of self, imagine where your team would be!
